"The partnership between the Hunt County Attorney's Office and Women in Need (WIN) plays a pivotal role in facilitating protective orders for our clients, survivors of domestic violence and abuse. By joining forces, they offer essential legal support to help survivors obtain protective orders, ensure their safety, and empower survivors in rebuilding their lives." Kristen Ostertag, Executive Director
Since January 1, 2021, there have been 165 Protective Order applications filed with WIN. That is 53% fewer than when compared with similar 3-year reporting period from January 1, 2017 through January 1, 2020. Partnerships do work.

Thank you to all my supporters, friends, and family. It has been an honor serving Hunt County these past 15 years. Public service is a sacrifice worth making, no matter how trying it can get. Now I will let God guide me on the next chapter of my life. I am deeply indebted to my staff that works so hard for this community.
